Limitless Power Supply (by Tim Green, Discipleship Pastor)

Many people in our area lost power due to the recent storm. You may be one of them. Life definitely becomes more difficult without a constant source of power. What was once easy is now hard. Things are left undone because there is no power source to make things happen. This is often like the Christian life.

Paul said in Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.” Often the storms of life reveal our weaknesses and leave us vulnerable. The strength we need is attached to a faith relationship with Jesus Christ. Living by faith means we will expect the Lord to do as He has promised. When you are weak spiritually, emotionally, and even physically, where do you seek the power to do the things you need to do? If we look from within, we are seeking to tap into a power that is inadequate and will ultimately fail us. If we seek the Lord through prayer, meditation, Bible study, and faith, we will gain a strength that comes from the Lord. And I am thankful that His power is limitless.

So, as with all things that need power, we need to plug into the power source – and that is the Lord. What things have you done today that show you have plugged into that power? What things do you need to resist because they encourage you to unplug from His help? The answers to these two questions will help you to do what it takes to seek the Lord as you remember the words of Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”
