Dear Edgewood Members and Attendees,
In consideration of the public health concerns related to COVID-19, we will NOT be hosting weekend services or any gatherings, during the week or weekend, at our facility until further notice. The deacons and pastoral staff thoughtfully and prayerfully considered the situation and did not come to this conclusion out of fear but out of a strong desire to protect the most vulnerable in our community and to honor the requests of our local and national leaders.
We WILL be recording the weekend worship services and will post on our website, app, and Facebook page each weekend so we can continue to Gather. Our office will remain open Monday-Friday so we will be available to take your calls. Please continue to let us know of your prayer requests, hospitalizations, surgeries, etc., so we can continue to pray for you. We plan to continue with hospital visits but will comply with the requests of all area hospitals should their visiting rules change.
Please keep an eye on our website, mobile app, Facebook page, Instagram, and your email inbox as you will see more frequent communication from us this month. We want to keep you encouraged in your walk as we continue to live out our 4 G’s: Gather (online), Grow (in our walk), Give (our time and tithe), and Go with the Gospel. We will be posting resources for parents and links to studies from RightNow Media, just to name a few.
We also want to remind you to continue to be positive on your social media channels. We, as the Church, have an opportunity like never before to point people toward the Gospel and explain where our hope comes from. Stay connected with your neighbors and your Growth Group communities through phone, email, text, and social media. Be an encouragement to one another.
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV
Hello everyone. I’m Jason Crosby, Chair of the Deacon Board and member at Edgewood.
We’ve all seen the news regarding the Coronavirus and I just wanted to spend a few minutes this morning to tell you that Edgewood is staying up to date with the latest news regarding this virus. We are listening to what local and national authorities advise as we determine any necessary response as a church.
As a result, we have made the decision to NOT have services this weekend. This is in an effort to heed the advice of our local and national government leaders and to love our neighbors who are at an increased risk of potentially contracting this virus. We will keep you updated through all of our communication channels on a regular basis to keep you apprised of any developments.
We are video recording the worship music and sermon that would have been presented in services this weekend and making it available on our website and app by tomorrow morning.
Please continue to use common sense is our best guideline for keeping ourselves and each other healthy. Wash your hands regularly. Cough or sneeze into your elbow. Take care of yourself by eating healthy and drinking plenty of fluids.
And finally, I want to take a moment to remind us all God didn’t give us a spirit of fear. Scripture reminds us not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Pray for our local and national leaders. Pray for medical personnel. Pray for those who have been affected and for those who are at an increased risk. Use your influence online and in person to speak God’s truth and combat the fear people are facing. Use your faith to shine a beacon of hope during this time.
Keep yourselves tuned to the Word and watching your inboxes, our mobile app, website, and Facebook page for new information. Thank you.
Edgewood is staying up to date with the progress of COVID-19 around the world. We are listening to what local and national authorities advise as we determine any necessary response as a church.
We are continuing with our normal operations and ministry schedules. Should any changes arise, we will notify everyone through email, enewsletter, our website, mobile app, and the Edgewood Facebook page.
Please know our children and nursery servants continue to do a great job keeping all areas and surfaces clean and using disinfectant. We will be taking the extra precaution of temporarily discontinuing the use of iPads for checking in children starting this weekend. Families can check their children into EdgeKids with one of our EdgeKids staff at the Child Check-In Desk located on the lower level.
Our greeters and other teams of volunteers will continue to wipe down door handles and the armrests on the Worship Center chairs between services.
