Focused Prayer for Open Staff Positions
As the Vanderbloemen search team works diligently to identify candidates for the Celebrate Recovery and Counseling Pastor and the Young Adults Pastor positions, we place our trust fully in the Lord to provide the right leaders. Edgewood has been blessed with gifted pastors in the past, and we are confident that God will do so again.
In light of that, let’s pray Jeremiah 3:15:
“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
Our task is to seek the Lord and to pray for God’s provision for these pastoral positions. This month, we’ll be hosting five different focused times of prayer.
Sunday, March 8, at 12:15 p.m. in the Family Life Center
Tuesday, March 10, at 6:00 p.m. in the Worship Center
Sunday, March 15, at 5:00 p.m. in the Student Center
Friday, March 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the Worship Center
Sunday, March 22, at 8:00 a.m. in the Student Center
Prayer Guide for New Pastoral Positions
Please use the following points to help guide your prayer
Pray for Vanderbloeman
- Pray for the recruiters to be able to recruit the right candidates for our positions.
- Pray for wisdom for the team that will be going through the resumes.
- Pray for discernment for those interviewing candidates
- Pray for safety of travel.
- Pray that they really understand Edgewood's culture and heart.
- Pray that God will direct them to the right candidates.
Pray for the Candidates
- Pray for open hearts.
- Pray for God to draw them to our job postings.
- Pray they get an accurate since of who we are.
- Pray that God will show them how He is working here.
- Pray God will show them how they will be able to minister here.
- Pray for them to develop relationships here quickly.
- Pray for God to close doors and open windows for them.
- Pray for an easy transition.
- Pray for wisdom in evaluating the ministry and timing of change.
- Pray for clarity in what they are supposed to do.
- Pray for them as they travel.
Pray for Edgewood
- Pray for wisdom and discernment for the Edgewood Team as they are looking at the proposed candidates.
- Pray for patience on our part and to wait on God's timing.
- Pray for Mainspring ministry as they are preparing for this adjust-ment.
- Pray for couples who will be ministered to with pre and post marital counseling.
- Pray for the Celebrate Recovery Leadership Team as they prepare for additional leadership.
- Pray for Celebrate Recovery as a whole. For those lives that will be changed.
- Pray for courage for those who need counseling to reach out once it becomes available.
- Pray for us to be welcoming and encouraging as candidates come and check us out.
